Coach Bill Park was pleased with the performances as swimmers from the Trail Regional Aquatic eXcellence (TRAX) competed in the Swim BC AA Long Course Provincial Championship Swim Meet held last month in Victoria.

Park was impressed with all swimmers at the championships, including Kayla Fraserswam who achieved personal best times in all races.

The weekend performance was highlighted by the 200 meter Individual Medley event where she broke the three minute mark, swimming a 2:59.76.

“We are very proud of this accomplishment. Kayla has improved by over 20 seconds this year in the very important Individual Medley events and this ensures that she is developing all four competitive swim strokes ensuring proper athlete development,” Park said.

Fraserswam’s FINA point scores in the 200 IM event helped secure her a spot on the Zone One 2014 BC Summer Games Team  who compete this coming July in Nanaimo.

Fraserswam also competed in the 50 Free, 200 Free, and 400 Free (where she took off almost 19 seconds from her previous best time) and she just narrowly missed a place in the 100 Freestyle final finishing in 17th place.

Also turning in a impressive meet was Tenysha Ross Van Meirlo from Castlegar.

Ross Van Meirlo competed in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 400 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back, 100 Breast & 200 Individual Medley over the three-day meet and qualified  for  three afternoon finals.

Ross Van Meirlo finished in 15th place for the 100 Breaststroke, 12th place in the 200 IM and 10th place in the 400 Free in the process lowering her personal best time by over seven seconds off setting a new Team Record in the process.
