Trail Allstars fall to 1-2 after Day three BC Little League 9-10 Baseball Championships

The Trail Allstars are 1-2 after Day three of the BC Little League 9-10 Baseball Championships.

The Trail Allstars lost 11-1 to White Rock in five innings Monday at Andy Bilesky Park in the Silver City.

Nelson’s Noah Quinn drove home the only run for Trail with an RBI in the fourth inning.

White Rock scoreed two in the first inning before blowing the game open with three runs in the third and four in the fourth.

Brayden DeWitt took the loss for Trail.

Kai Cuminskey was the winning pitcher for White Rock.

Trail opened the tournament Saturday with a 12-7 loss to Hastings Allstars of Vancouver.

Hastings scored five runs in the second inning to erase a 1-0 deficit. Hastings, finishing the game with 11 hits, added a single in the third frame and four in the fourth to open a 10-1 lead.

Trail staged a rally scoring three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Nelson’s Bryce Sookro and Darren Issel each crossed the plate twice for Trail.

DeWitt took the loss on the mound for Trail but finished the game with two RBI’s.

Trail rebounded Sunday by outlasting Victoria Beacon Hill Allstars 20-14.

Trail jumped out to a 11-0 lead after two innings before the Island squad staged a comeback, and led the game 14-13 entering the bottom of the sixth.

That’s when Trail pushed across seven runs to secure the victory.

Sookro registered the win on the mound with Will Doerksen, Sam McLaren and Issell leading the way offensively, each finishing with two hits and three RBI’s.

Connor Stainer, Sookro and Kelton Forte of Nelson each had two RBI’s.

Trail outhit Beacon Hill 15-9 but committed four errors that helped the Victoria offence.

Seamus Boyd is the other Nelson Baseball Association player on the Trail roster.

Trail returns to the diamond Tuesday against Highlands.

In other games, Hastings meets Beacon Hill and Dunbar faces White Rock.
