More than 1,250 people were regaled by the RCMP Musical Ride at Pass Creek Park Sunday.

Two RCMP members involved in the ride required medical attention that day, but worried spectators will be relieved to know both have recovered fully and are doing fine.
One police officer experienced an asthma attack, while another lost consciousness as a result of the heat.

Castlegar RCMP Cpl. Mike Mysko said the members’ signature red serge outfits, while wonderfully warm in winter, are not always ideal for scorching B.C. summers
“It (red serge) is made of wool and very warm,:” he said, adding the minor mishaps did not mar a very positive and entertaining occassion.

In other police news, RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a break-and-enter and theft that that occurred sometime overnight between July 25 and 26 in the 1900 block of Columbia Avenue.

“Culprits entered a locked business and stole four laptop computers,” said Const. Sherri Karn. “The computers included two Dells, one HP Pavillion and on Compaq Armada.
“The RCMP are looking for your assistance in determining who was responsible for this …anyone with any information pertaining to this investigation is requested to contact the Castlegar RCMP at 250-365-7721 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477).”

The value of the stolen goods is placed at roughly $4,000.
