Cops dismantle Crown land grow op valued at six figures
Orr said members of the Castlegar Crime Reduction Unit located and cut down 311 marijuana plants, each about four-and-a-half feet high.
"The site was located on Crown land and no suspects were found when police attended," he said, adding the site was located using the RCMP air services helicopter, which spotted the grow a week ago.
"The outdoor growing operation was sophisticated and employed an automatic watering system using diverted creek water," he said. "Camouflage was also used in an attempt to hide the growing operation.'
He said the pot plants are worth about $300,000.
