The View From Here” Opens at the Kootenay Gallery of Art

The Kootenay Gallery of Art is pleased to announce the opening of The View From Here, a collaborative installation by acclaimed artists Lyndal Osborne and Sherri Chaba; on view from Sep. 11 – Nov. 1.
This immersive exhibit reflects both artists’ enduring commitment to environmental themes, combining individual and collaborative works that examine the beauty of nature alongside urgent ecological concerns.
Through striking visual storytelling, The View From Here addresses critical topics such as industrialized farming, the impact of drought on food production, and the alarming disappearance of species – while also celebrating the resilience and grace of the natural world.
Using natural materials, found objects, and multimedia elements, Osborne and Chaba create an experience that is as much emotional as it is intellectual. The gallery becomes a site of reflection – on climate change, sustainability and the connection of all living things.
About the Artist: Lyndal Osborne and Sherri Chaba are artists known for their work at the intersection of art, science, and the environment. Both bring decades of experience in installation and mixed media, engaging audiences in critical conversations about ecological stewardship and sustainability.
Visitors are invited to the opening reception on Thursday, September 11 a 5:30pm, where the artists will be in attendance.
